Yacht Rock

Yacht Rock is a sub genre of soft rock, borne out of Southern California and flourishing between the years of 1976 and 1984. The term “Yacht Rock” is taken from the TV show of the same name which was first aired in June 2005. The series was devised by J.D. Ryznar when he noticed smooth similarities among bands such as Steely Dan, Toto, and The Doobie Brothers.
